How Did Berner Get Famous?

Embed from Getty Images Berner got his start as a rapper from humble beginnings in San Francisco's Sunset District. After briefly attending Galileo Academy of Science and Technology, he quit school and started battle rapping in high school. In 2006, he released his debut mixtape, Dirty Sneakers…Plenty Ways to Get It, which helped to launch his career. His father was a chef in a Mexican restaurant on Fillmore Street, while his mother worked in an office. The family eventually relocated to Arizona when Berner was 13 so that his father could pursue his dream of starting a restaurant there. This early exposure to the food and hospitality industry may have inspired Berner to become the successful entrepreneur he is today.

Does Berner Own His Masters?

Berner is a highly successful rap artist, but with this great success comes questions about the ownership of his music.
According to available information, there is no clear answer as to who owns Berner's masters.
While it may be possible that he owns them, it's more likely that his record label owns them and he simply receives a share of the profits from sales and streaming.
This is the case for many other artists, whose masters are either bought by or controlled by their labels.
When an artist aquires their masters, they shout it from the roof tops – it is a rare and costly BOSS move!
