Our tale began in Detroit in 1852 when Sidney Davy Miller established a sole law office on Jefferson Avenue in that city's then-emerging downtown.

He might not have imagined that more than 170 years later, his business would be the oldest and one of the biggest legal firms in Michigan, with over 200 attorneys spread throughout 18 offices and connected locations across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.

Some of the guiding values that helped the company flourish back then have also been crucial to our success—a constant focus on the customer, work ethic, offering top-notch legal services and business solutions at a reasonable cost, and plain old persistence to finish the job.
