In order to take pride in their job, take care of the requirements of their customers, and give back to their community, two attorneys founded Essex Richards in 1976.

They really thought that if they put in a lot of effort, offered superior legal advice, and created a positive client experience, they would build a company where clients would come back and recommend their friends.

Above all, they understood how critical it was to approach every task with the utmost professionalism and ethics. They thought that doing this would gain them recognition from judges and other lawyers and increase the effectiveness of their firm in helping their clients and the community.

The founding attorneys, Ken Essex and Chan Richards, drew on their prior experience working for other law firms to establish Essex Richards, taking only the best legal techniques with them and abandoning the less desirable ones behind.

Essex Richards has always operated in this manner. The majority of its attorneys joined the firm from other firms, bringing a variety of experiences and talents with them in search of the chance to provide excellent client service with creative, like-minded coworkers.

They still have the urge to improve things. They make an effort to adhere to best practices in all they do and are constantly searching for ways to improve processes by fusing cutting-edge technology with a traditional, hands-on approach.
